Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor:
Thank you for the wonderful story about Jazzy and the loss of your dear father (Jasmine Blue’s Tails of the Dog Park: “An Incredibly Sensitive Dog,” August 2008). Just think … every time you look into Jazzy’s beautiful blue eyes you’ll be able to recall your dad and his good life.

We have followed your column since Jazzy became the “blue eyed love of your life” and will look forward to continuing our special read. Your writing has so touched us. Our pets grab such a big hold on our hearts and ask so very little in return. How lucky we are to have you writing about something so dear that mostly goes unsaid. Please continue your gift and keep these articles coming.

Steve and Cherrie

Dear Editor:
I read “Jasmine Blue’s Tails of the Dog Park: “An Incredibly Sensitive Dog” (August 2008) while sitting at the Coffee Roastery and I burst into tears! It was beautifully written and incredibly touching. I love “Jasmine’s “Tails” because it makes me laugh and cry; often both within one column. I would like to ask you a favor, though. When you write something sad, please put a warning label at the top that says “Don’t read this in a public place as it may make you cry and cause a scene.” Thank you again for a funny, sad, informative, unique column. I look forward to the next chapter.

Dear Editor:
Your “Editor’s Note: If Tom Brady …” (August 2008) was thoughtful, compassionate, and well written. My sentiments exactly. Well done and thank you.

Dear Editor:
What a pleasure it was to see GraceAnn Walden get her due – a cover story! I have always been a fan of hers, and don’t think the Chronicle food section will ever be the same without her (“The Scoop” certainly never has).

By the way, my husband and I caught the two of you on the Gene Burns Show on KGO a month or so ago. It was very informative and enjoyable.

Dear Editor:
I don’t know if it was planned this way, but your September “Editor’s Note” about the loss of your father, and the Kitchenless Cook’s column about his appreciation for his father on his 75th birthday made beautiful, touching bookmarks in last month’s issue. Thank you also for GraceAnn Walden’s terrific cover story and, as always, Mr. Bellingham. I hope you have something on tap from Michael Murphy in the near future. Northside San Francisco has the best writers in San Francisco – what a treasure.
