The K of D opens new Magic Theatre season at Fort Mason
By Bruce Bellingham

Magic Theatre begins its new season on Sept. 6 with Laura Schellhardt’s The K of D, An Urban Legend.

It’s the offbeat story of a young girl, Charlotte McGrew, who personifies the thoughts of dozens of denizens of a small midwestern town where a strange legend persists, all while meditating on questions about life and death.

“Shellhardt’s The K of D is an astounding piece of writing: its highly muscular language, bold imagination, and emotional vitality captivated me completely,” says artistic director Loretta Greco.

Rebecca Novick directs the play.
The K of D:  Magic Theatre, Fort Mason Center, Bldg. D; Sept. 20–Oct. 19; tickets $20–$45 available at 415-441-8822 or www.magictheatre.org
