Luisotti leads S.F. Opera Orchestra to celebrate Fort Mason’s Museo ItaloAmericano’s 30th anniversary

San Francisco Opera’s new musical director, Nicola Luisotti, will conduct the Opera Orchestra at a benefit concert for Museo ItaloAmericano on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Herbst Theater.
     
The program includes a few favorites from the Italian opera hit parade, including the overtures to Verdi’s Nabucco, Rossini’s La Gazza Ladra, and Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien. Yes, there will be singers. Current Adler fellows Leah Crocetto and Daveda Karanas will perform as soloists in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
     
The Museo is a nonprofit organization that exhibits artworks by Italians and Italian-Americans and promotes Italian art and culture.
