San Francisco Girls Chorus sings up a storm for the holidays with three
Bay Area concerts
By Bruce Bellingham

The highlight of the season for the San Francisco Girls Chorus will be its performance at Davies Hall on Dec. 23 that will feature the world premiere of a work commissioned by composer Eleanor Daley.

It will be a powerful evening with voices, organ, strings, bells, and harp. The 43 voices of the Girls
Chorus will be joined by the 250 voices of the San Francisco Girls Chorus School plus alumnae. There will be an audience sing-along, guest artist Jonathan Dimmick on organ, and the Sonos Handbell Ensemble. Susan McMane is the
artistic director.

The Girls Chorus will also appear in Berkeley with a different lineup on Dec. 19 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

The new San Francisco Girls Chorus Alumnae Chorus performs Dec. 5, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in San Francisco. The concert features music by Benjamin Britten, Gustav Holst, Matthew Larkin, Frank LaRocca, and others.
